Speedy Singhs Photo Call in London!

World famous Canadian stand-up comedian Russell Peters, Speedy Singhs debutant Vinay Virmani and popular Punjabi comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi stopped over in London for a press conference to promote their film Breakaway/ Speedy Singhs today after a short visit to India for the same.

Produced by Akshay Kumar, the film also stars Camilla Belle, Anupam Kher, Rob Lowe, Sakina Jaffery and Noureen DeWulf with the cameo appearances by Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar himself , rappers Aubrey ‘DRAKE’ Graham and Chris ‘LUDACRIS’ Bridges. It is directed by well-known Hollywood director Robert Lieberman.

Speedy Singhs tells the story of Rajveer Singh essayed by Vinay Virmani caught between two cultures and two sets of ideals. The film speaks of the sports genre underdog, but in this case, the underdog reflects issues of assimilation that immigrants deal with daily as they strive for acceptance in their new home country.

Speedy Singhs also has a generational story to tell, as a young man tries to find his way in a new, western world, daring to disobey his father’s sacred traditions. It gives the audience an insight into the little known Sikh culture, a beautifully humble group of South Asians that embrace a strong sense of community. These real issues ground ‘Speedy Singh’ in a story that has deep resonance – even in its hilarity, it has poignancy.

Synopsis:

‘Rajveer Singh’ (Vinay Virmani) is 21 years old and aspires to play professional hockey, struggling to succeed in a predominantly white man’s sport. Facing prejudice from his peers, he decides to assemble an all-Sikh hockey team called ‘Speedy Singh’ and these talented young men begin a challenging journey of social acceptance and ethnic assimilation, while still retaining their proud roots. 'X Factor' -- Parents Org to File FCC Complaint Over Dong-Exposing Contestant

"X Factor" ... more like XXX Factor ... if you ask the Parents Television Council -- which is now promising to file a formal indecency complaint with the FCC over the contestant who dropped trou on stage last night.

In case you missed it -- a wannabe singer named Geo Godley whipped out his junk in the middle of his performance on the show ... and it all aired on X Factor. Producers added a graphic to cover the guy's man zone.

But PTC President Tim Winter is furious ... saying, "If Godley performed his act in public, he would have been arrested. But
if he performs it in front of a Fox camera, his act is beamed via the
public airwaves into every home in the nation."

He adds, "The prolonged, previously videotaped footage of a contestant dancing
nude on the ‘X Factor’ stage represents a conscious decision by the
producers – with the approval of the network’s broadcast standards
department – to intentionally air this content in front of millions of
families during hours when they knew full well that children would be
watching."

“Families were led to believe the ‘X Factor’ would be family-friendly
programming and instead were assaulted by graphic nudity."

"And while we understand the
entertainment hook that comes from the occasional train wreck, something
so inherently and patently offensive as this obscene performance is
more than a sucker punch; it is a violation of Fox station’s broadcast
licenses."

“Finally, the fact that Fox assigned a content rating of TV-PG DL for a
naked man frolicking around on a stage is not just inaccurate, it is
fraudulent. We call on the amorphous Content Ratings Review Board to
immediately investigate this incident and hold Fox accountable for
violating the spirit and the letter of the content ratings system, which
can only be described at this point as rigged and blatantly
inaccurate."

X Factor Dong Dancer: I Wasn't Naked!

The Parents Television Council may be off base -- because the contestant who dropped trou on "The X Factor" last night tells TMZ, he wasn't naked ... he was wearing a g-string.

The singer -- Geo Godley -- tells us, his outfit was nothing worse than what you see at the beach -- insisting his performance was inspired by his Greek Island culture ... "We always dance in g-strings." Godley adds, "G-Strings are legal. The PTC have no complaint to make."

But Godley admits, he still got a little carried away -- adding, "I apologize to anyone that was exposed to my behind ... I had no intention of showing it and it was an accident when I fell. I was caught up in the moment."

He's definitely no Minka Kelly.

Kim Delaney -- Yanked Off Stage At U.S. Military Event

"Army Wives" actress Kim Delaney had to be escorted off the stage at an event honoring the U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates in Philadelphia last night after slurring and stalling her way through a very bizarre scripted speech.

Several high ranking U.S. officials were present during the award show -- and 3 former U.S. presidents made special video tributes for the event.

It's unclear what caused Kim's bizarre behavior.

Delaney has had issues with substance abuse in the past -- she spent some time in rehab for alcohol abuse in 2003.

Calls to Kim's rep have not been returned.

RB Singer Vesta Williams -- Dies in L.A. Hotel Room

R&B singer Vesta Williams -- best known for her 1989 hit "Congratulations" -- was found dead in an L.A. hotel room yesterday ... TMZ has confirmed.

Loads of Vesta's celebrity friends have posted messages on Twitter about the news -- including actress Jackeé Harry who wrote, "...just received truly devastating news: R&B great, and my friend of many yrs, Vesta Williams (@vesta4u), has passed away. #RIPVesta"

53-year-old Williams had a string of R&B hits in the 80s and 90s including "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and "You Make Me Want To (Love Again)."

Multiple bottles of prescription pills were found in the El Segundo, CA hotel room where R&B singer Vesta Williams died ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

We're told "several bottles" were discovered -- some empty.

Law enforcement sources tell us officials first received a call related to Vesta's death around 6PM Thursday night.

Sources tell us the death is being treated as either an accident or suicide, but not a homicide.

The coroner won't know if drugs played a part in her death until the toxicology reports are in -- and that could take 6 weeks.

Biggest Loser Competitor Upgraded to Stable Condition After Bone-Shattering Fall

"Biggest Loser" competitor Sam Poueu -- who was listed in critical condition after falling several stories from a fire escape this month -- is making some serious progress in his recovery and has been upgraded to stable, TMZ has learned.

We're told doctors are still wary because Sam's status could change at any moment -- but overall, everyone's excited by his progress.

As we previously reported, Sam was celebrating a friend's birthday when he accidentally locked himself on the roof -- and fell several stories while trying to climb down a fire escape.

Sam suffered a pelvic injury, torn ligaments, a punctured lung, and a broken leg during the accident.

Former NFL Player Found Dead

Former Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Orlando Brown has been found dead ... TMZ has confirmed.

Brown, an imposing figure in the NFL, was famously injured in 1999 when a ref threw a penalty marker that struck his eye. The injury was severe and some say it derailed his career.

Brown, who was 40, was found dead at his home in downtown Baltimore.

The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Michael Jackson Manslaughter Case: Prosecutors Claim Murray Acted with Guilty Conscience

Prosecutors in the Michael Jackson manslaughter case want the jury to hear evidence that authorities tried in vain to get in touch with Dr. Conrad Murray to figure out how Michael Jackson died, and his refusal to cooperate is evidence of a guilty heart.

Prosecutors say both the LAPD and the L.A. County Coroner tried on 4 separate occasions -- from June 30, 2009 - July 21, 2009 -- to contact Murray but never received a return call.

By falling off the radar, prosecutors believe it shows a consciousness of guilt and they want this evidence before the jury.

The judge has not ruled on the motion.

Audrina Patridge Burglar -- Convicted!

Rachel Lee -- the mastermind of the Burglar Bunch gang that terrorized numerous Hollywood celebs -- has pled no contest in the burglary of Audrina Patridge's L.A. home.

Lee and the bunch allegedly ransacked Audrina's home in 2009. Although Lee did not cop a plea in the other cases, as TMZ first reported, the Burglar Bunch also allegedly hit the homes of Orlando Bloom, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Megan Fox.

Lee is expected to be sentenced to 4 years in prison when she appears in court on October 21.

Bristol Palin Heckler: I'd Do It Again!

A rep for Bristol tells TMZ, she "was approached in a confrontational and inappropriate manner when two men aggressively shouted expletives aimed at her in reference to her mother. Bristol responded to the unprovoked verbal assault by calmly standing her ground and defending her family."

As we previously reported, Stephen Hanks yelled, "Your mother's a whore" -- prompting a face-to-face argument during which Bristol shouted at Hanks, "I just know you are" a homosexual.

The rep believes there was nothing bigoted about Bristol's words -- saying, "The situation ended with no incident, and accusing her of homophobia is completely unfounded and totally misstates her views."
